Curriculum Vitae of Candidate for Member of the Supervisory Board

In connection with the inclusion in the agenda of the Extraordinary General Shareholders Meeting scheduled for April 27th 2009 of an item concerning the filling of a vacancy on the Supervisory Board of Grupa LOTOS S.A (see Current Report No. 11/2009 dated March 26th 2009), the Management Board of Grupa LOTOS S.A. hereby publishes the curriculum vitae of Mr Ireneusz Fąfara, a candidate for member of the Supervisory Board of Grupa LOTOS S.A. nominated by Nafta Polska S.A., a shareholder of the Company.

Mr Ireneusz Fąfara, aged 50, is a graduate of the Kraków Academy of Economics (now University of Economics), where he majored in international business relations. He also completed post-graduate studies at the Technical University of Łódź. He held internships at the stock exchanges in Frankfurt and Düsseldorf. Additionally, he completed courses in finance, capital markets and pension plans, organised by the Association of Swiss Banks and the Austrian Central Bank. Mr Fąfara holds a securities broker licence.

In the years 1985-1990, he worked for several energy companies as a specialist for export sale. From 1992, he worked for Bank Energetyki S.A. of Radom. From 1993 to 1995, he was an executive manager at a brokerage house and afterwards, in September 1995, he became Vice-President of its Management Board. 

In 1998, he was appointed member of the Management Board, Economic and Financial Director, of the Social Security Institution (ZUS). He was in charge of supervising the inflow of contributions to the Social Security Fund, Open-End Pension Funds, the National Health Fund, the Labour Fund and the Guaranteed Employee Benefits Fund. In addition, his responsibilities included management of the finances of the above-mentioned institutions, as well as of the Demographic Reserve Fund. In 2003-2006, he additionally acted as member of the Management Board of the Social Security Institution responsible for IT.

Mr Ireneusz Fąfara has held positions on the supervisory boards of ENERGO-UTECH S.A. of Poznań, Agencja Rynku Energii S.A. of Warsaw, Milmet S.A., Kompania Węglowa S.A. and Centrum Informatyki Grupy PZU, as well as on the Supervisory Board of the National Health Fund.

In May 2007, he was appointed to the position of President of the Management Board of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego.
