Extension of Two Licences Granted to Petrobaltic S.A. for Production of Natural Gas from the B6 and B4 Fields

The Management Board of Grupa LOTOS S.A. hereby reports that yesterday (on October 16th 2008) it was notified that Petrobaltic S.A. (which is 69% controlled by Grupa LOTOS S.A.) received the decision of the Minister of the Environment concerning the extension of the validity period of the licence for production of natural gas from the B6 field and the change of the period in which production should begin under the licences for the B6 and B4 fields.

Petrobaltic S.A. was granted the licence for production of natural gas from the B6 field for 26 years (counting from the licence grant date, i.e. November 7th 2006) and obtained decisions concerning changes in the licences for production of natural gas from the B4 and B6 fields, under which the period in which production should begin under the licence for the B6 field was extended to 96 months and for B4 field – to 84 months (counting from the licence grant date, i.e. November 7th 2006 and May 11th 2007, respectively). This means that the B6 field licence was extended by six years and the period in which the production should begin was extended by 60 months with respect to each of the fields.
